Millchester State School is situated on the south-eastern side of Charters Towers. In 2024 our school will celebrate 150 years of service to the community. From 1874 until 1947 our school was situated just off Millchester Road. The school was moved to its present location on Phillipson Road and now sits in extensive, picturesque grounds.
For many years the school existed as a teaching Principal plus one other Teacher school. However, enrolments over the years have seen the school expanded to Principal, eight Classroom Teachers and Specialist Staff.
Despite the growth in student population, Millchester State School has retained the 'Small School' atmosphere for which it has been historically known.
